Guild Wars 2 made innovative changes from the first Guild Wars. It begins by removing the traditional quest log, but it still gives you side quests and other activities outside the main storyline. The structure of the game has changed. Your map in the game serves as somewhat of a journal to help you find points of interest, and it still allows you to travel from one point to the next.

The newest addition to Guild Wars 2 is that you can embark on a quest of your own; rather than having the game guides, you through one that was created for you. Like in other MMORPGs, you can visit the low-level areas as a high-level character. However, unlike in other games, Guild Wars 2 gives you some reason to be there. Guild Wars 2 scales down the enemy health and makes them a greater threat. While you will not get much for experience in low-level regions, you can earn loot to match your level.

One of the cons is that some of the missions in the game are not engaging, such as repairing fences and delivering ale. However, you're always free to move onto options more interesting. Who knows, you might even discover a vista? Vista points exist around the world of Tyria, and you can identify them by the glowing bits of parchment. Acquiring a vista is not always easy and getting them often depends on the jumping puzzles. The benefit of this game is that the movement is probably the most fluid in the genre; nevertheless, the camera sometimes gets stuck on walls and ceilings.

You can play the game with races including: Asura, Charr, Sylvari and Norn. In the game, your choice will affect the story that follows. The professions and classes are more tactical than in Guild Wars.

The advantage of Guild Wars 2 is that it stands out as one of the more challenging MMORPGs. You do not climb the experience ladder like in World of Warcraft. It requires time and a certain amount of skill to get to the upper levels. Another one of the benefits of Guild Wars 2 is that the repetitive grind missions were removed. Grind missions are a common occurrence in games such as World of Warcraft and Star Wars the Old Republic. The missions of Guild Wars 2 make sense for the overall storyline. You will not have to kill 100 boars to get experience points.

One of the best improvements for Guild Wars 2 is that you can play with others and not need to plan. You can join the event or battle as you please. It quickly becomes evident how the game has become more social than the first Guild Wars.
